Joshua Smith, originally born in Durham, North Carolina, began his dance career in Atlanta, Georgia, on the Disney Original Movie 'Let It Shine'. Knowing he wanted to take his skills to the next level, he then joined the infamous Collizion Crew and went on to be featured on season 7 of America's Best Dance Crew. Upon his return from the show, he was hired as a dancer for MTV's 'New Artist of the Year', and international pop star, Austin Mahone. His style and hard work propelled him from being a dancer, into being a choreographer for Austin. Shortly after, Creative Director, Jamaica Craft recruited Joshua as a dancer for the Usher Raymond URX worldwide tour. He continued to work with Usher as both a dancer and Assistant Choreographer on a myriad of Usher's projects. That experience quickly catapulted Joshua into the world of Choreography, where he soon became, and has remained the Artistic Director and Head Choreographer for Chris Brown. Since his transition into Choreography, he has had the opportunity to work with the likes of Usher, Chris Brown, Ciara, Neyo, Pharrell, Lil Nas X, Kelly Rowland and BTS, in addition to countless others, all while working on major award and television shows. Joshua was also the winner of the 2019 Soul Train Award for 'Best Dance Performance' for Chris Browns, 'No Guidance' music video. Despite his many accolades, Joshua's true passion lies in preserving Hip Hop culture as both a choreographer and educator. As an instructor, he hopes to provide dancers with an authentic Hip Hop experience in their training, while pushing them past their limits.
