Competition Limitations

There are no competition limitations for total routines. All soloists are limited to one solo per dancer.

Competition Deposit

We require a non-refundable $50 deposit per routine. This helps us have a more accurate count of routines at each event.

Second City Discount

Attending a second Regional city? Receive 25% off your convention fees. Select "Second City Discount" during registration.

Competition Requirement

All competing dancers must be registered for the full weekend of convention to participate in competition.

STUDIO REGISTRATION KIT

Registration Kits

Your kit will include scholarship numbers, wristbands, your teacher handbook, teacher lanyards, and a complimentary program. Registrations with 10 or more dancers will receive kits in the mail pre-event. For studios with 9 dancers or less, kits will be available for pick up at registration. Shipping available for $20.

DanceMakers Coffee Mugs

Coffee on DanceMakers! All registered teachers receive a complimentary DM coffee mug that will get you free refills of either regular coffee or tea at the host venue's registered coffee shop!

VIP Lanyards

Each registered teacher will receive a VIP lanyard to help faculty, staff, and other studio owners easily recognize you. Not required to be worn, but encouraged. Lanyards do not replace your designated wristband for classroom entry.

Wristbands

Your registration kit includes all pre-registered attendees wristbands. Must be secured on the wrist with only a finger space. Wristbands must be kept on for both days. No one will be allowed into classrooms without a wristband.

Scholarship Numbers

Your kit includes scholarship numbers for all pre-registered attendees (excluding teachers). Two copies are included - the second is a backup. Numbers should be pinned visibly on clothing. DanceMakers will not reprint numbers onsite.

Waiver

All registered attendees are required to sign our waiver prior to attending.

CONVENTION & COMPETITION

Observers

DanceMakers will no longer allow observers in convention ballrooms. Only registered dancers and teachers will have access to classrooms. Exception: Camp Dance classroom - you will receive 1 Camp Dance Observer Band per registered Camp Dance dancer.

Convention Tap Boards

DanceMakers is excited to have convention tap boards available for dancers! We will be providing tap boards in each of our tap convention classes.

Photography/Video

Photo and video during competition are strictly prohibited to protect choreographer rights and children's safety. Professional photography and video will be available for purchase. Violations can result in routine and/or studio disqualification.

Competition Music

All competition music must be uploaded by the Wednesday before your event via "Media Manager" in your registration account. MP3 or MP4 files accepted. Please have a backup on smartphone or USB at the event.

Props

DanceMakers welcomes general props to our competition! However, the use of props is the sole responsibility of the studio.

Studios have a total of two minutes to place and remove their props from the stage. Violation of this rule will result in a 5 point reduction.

It is also the studio's responsibility to ensure the stage is left clean and clear following their performance. Teachers, dancers and parents are more than welcome to help with props as long as the judges cannot see any studio affiliation.

Please refrain from using fire, liquids, or helium balloons as well as props being thrown into the judges area and/or audience.

DanceMakers cannot guarantee props over 8'h will fit on the stage.

If your prop cannot fit through a single door, please reach out to jonathan@dancemakersinc.com to coordinate a time to get your props into the showroom. We will only have designated times available for this.

Live Stream

We offer a free live stream for all competition and award ceremonies. This service is dependent on internet strength at each venue. Competition photos and videos are available for purchase without watermarks.

Senior Audition Performance

All finalists from the senior audition class will perform at the Wrap It Ceremony on Sunday. Rehearsals are on Saturday and Sunday during lunchtime in the Showroom. All finalists must be present at both rehearsals and have an all black outfit (form-fitting and no jazz shoes required.) Hair and makeup should be fresh, clean, and neat.
